Blindfolded Magician Successfully Completes Driving Stunt

George Tait drove through a course of "rabbits" and walked a convoluted chalk line in a parking lot, all while wearing a blindfold.

There were rabbits, a small crowd, magicians and, yes, a man behind the wheel of a car wearing a blindfold and black bag over his head.

Self-proclaimed "mind tapped" artist George Tait performed a stunt Saturday afternoon in celebration of 40th anniversary.

For a warm-up, he walked a convoluted chalk-drawn line in a parking lot behind on 14 Mile and Main Street. He walked it first without the blindfold, then with the blindfold. Then he completed a driving course on which people dressed in rabbit suits stood in a staggered path. No one was injured.

Tait said he uses his senses and memorizes the routes. He describes "mind tapped" magic as "a combination of psychology, magic and bold lies to create the illusion of mind reading or mind control."

Wunderground Magic Shop's official anniversary is on April Fools' Day.
