Clawson's Fourth of July Schedule of Events

An early look at all the festivities leading up to the big fireworks show on July 4.

 

The fourth of July is a little more than a month away but in case you'd like to make preparations, the planning committee has provided a schedule of all the events in Clawson. All events will be held at City Park unless otherwise noted. Keep checking the Clawson Patch for developing details on the events.

June 24

  • Free 1 Mile Fun Run— 7 p.m.
  • 5K Freedom Run— 7:30 p.m.

June 25

  • Clawson Community Blood Drive at City Hall — 1-7 p.m.

June 27

  • Ice Cream Social — 7 p.m. (sponsored by the Clawson Lions Club)
  • South Oakland Concert Band — 7:30 p.m.

June 30

  • Kiddie Garage Sale — 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Kiddie Parade — 11 a.m. (sponsored by the GFWC Clawson Juniors)
  • Kiddie Games — 11:30 a.m.
  • Big Wheel Race — 11:45 a.m. (sponsored by Tri-County ACE Hardware)
  • Coney Day — 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. (sponsored for Clawson-Troy Optimists)

July 3

  • Bonus Night with amusement rides and food concessions — 3-9 p.m. (admission $2)

July 4, Independence Day

  • Herb Glenn Memorial Pancake Breakfast at United Methodist Church — 7-11 a.m.
  • Firecracker Mile at Clawson Shopping Center on West 14 Mile Road — 7:45-9 a.m.
  • Fourth of July Parade — 9 a.m. (Clawson Shopping Center to City Park)
  • Arts & Crafts Fair — 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Midway Area Open — 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Midway Area — free attractions 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Opening Ceremony — noon
  • Clawson Junior Boys Baseball All Star Game and Clawson Junior Boys (ages 9-10) Novice All Star Game — noon
  • Water Battle: Clawson Fire Department vs. Troy Fire Department — 1 p.m.
  • Clawson Junior Boys Baseball All Star Game and Clawson Junior Boys (ages 11-12) Novice All Star Game — 2 p.m.
  • Annual Mother/Daughter Softball Games at Schalm Elementary — 2 p.m.
  • Winners announced for Clawson Beautiful Baby Contest — 7 p.m.
  • Fireworks Show at dusk — about 10 p.m.
