Clawson Public Schools Supt. Monique Beels' total compensation package from the district ranks 24th among 29 superintendents in Oakland County.
According to a searchable database compiled by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, Beels' total compensation package is $181,000. Only Hazel Park, Madison, Holly and Pontiac district superintendents earn less.
In addition, unlike neighboring districts, Beels does not have a cabinet. For example, there is no human resources director or curriculum & instruction director.
"It's just me. When I have a cabinet meeting, I only have to pour a cup of coffee for myself," she joked. "But, I am not complaining. It's a great job and I love what I do."
Clawson schools has an enrollment of 1,876 students.

She was just hired, and now politicking for more $$$$, wth ? you knew before you came here and asking for a job. we are already the Second highest Taxed City of the 31 in Oakland County, only so many $$$ in 2.2 square miles. and to think we have a mayor and council who volunteer. Madison Hghts. is also 2.2 sq. miles, and they pay their's (?) 22,000 less and they have industry to help w/tax base
