UPDATE: 'Caroling in Clawson' Holiday Event Location Change

Sign up today to take part in the city's holiday tradition on Dec. 15, which moves from City Hall to the Hunter Community Center.

Updated 10 a.m. Dec. 3: This kick off for the event has moved to the Hunter Community Center because of construction at City Hall.

You are familiar with all of the holiday classic songs.

Chances are you’ve probably had them playing on your car radio long before Thanksgiving.

So, why not belt them out for all to hear and spread some holiday cheer?

No spectacular singing voice is required to carol in Clawson this December, just a desire to have some good, old-fashioned, nostalgic fun.

The third annual 'Caroling in Clawson' event, sponsored by Clawson Youth Assistance, is set to take place Dec. 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. on city streets and sidewalks.

Participants will be given assignments of what streets to cover (most choose their own), as well as a song book filled with classic hymns such as "Jingle Bells", "Deck the Halls", "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", "Silent Night" and many more.

In the past two years, the event has attracted hundreds of caroling volunteers.

"My goal is to have carolers on all of the streets of Clawson, and in order to make that happen, we need lots of singers!" said Mayor Penny Luebs.

Individuals, groups, families, friends - everyone's invited to the event. All that's required is enthusiasm, smiles and perhaps, several layers of clothing to keep warm in. As an added bonus, hot chocolate will be served after the event.

Call Clawson Youth Assistance at (248) 259-6208 to register today!

The gathering location for the Christmas caroling has been changed to Hunter Commmunity Center, 509 Fisher Ct. due to construction at City Hall. All the other info is correct, just come to Hunter instead of City Hall!!!

Is it absolutely necessary to register in advance? We're still trying to gather a group...

Hi Crysta,

If you are still trying to gather a group, just make sure you register before the 15th, I believe, to guarantee song books, etc. Call Clawson Youth Assistance at (248) 259-6208 to double check the specifics and for registering. Hope you have a blast!
