Between tackling mounds of homework, making new friends and keeping up at recess, children have a lot on their minds during a typical school day. Being sick shouldn't be one of them.

Beginning in February, Nature’s Playhouse will partner with Naturally Healthy Families of Southeast Michigan to host monthly talks at the Clawson-based facility. Topics to be discussed include dietary, herbal and homeopathic remedies for treating childhood ailments at home.

“Many families are seeking to protect their children from toxins in the environment, in the diet, in medication and in vaccines,” said Natalie Pencak of Clawson, owner of Nature’s Playhouse. “Our playroom is the perfect place for parents to learn while giving their children the opportunity to play.”

Nature’s Playhouse, located inside the Hunter Community Center, offers nurturing educational programs and classes for families with children younger than 6 years old. Play groups, classes including art and music, prenatal yoga — as well as yoga for parents and little ones — infant massages and more are just some of the features of the facility.

“We believe that every parent is the perfect parent for their child,” said Pencak. “It is our desire to support parents in deepening their connection to their children and to the inner wisdom that resides within their hearts.”

Through the new partnership, the opportunity to expand such services to the community will grow.

“We share a passion for women's and children's health,” added Pencak. “By hosting free monthly educational talks, families can learn ways to nurture well-being and happiness in their families.”
