Police Blotter: Resident Reports Attempted Break-In, Christmas Lights Cut
The following information was supplied by the Clawson Police Department.
A Clawson woman told Clawson Police that she believes someone attempted to break into her house on the 200 block of Massoit between Nov. 30-Dec. 1. The resident said her son discovered the lock mechanism to the side door was on the ground when he went outside around 7 a.m. Dec. 1.
A police report said the woman had locked the side door the night before. Police said that when they arrived at the scene, the door handle had dents in it, although the door frame was not damaged. There are no suspects.
Christmas lights cut
A resident on the 1300 block of Langley reported that someone cut her exterior holiday lights twice in the past month. The Clawson woman said her lights were cut in five places between Nov. 5-8, a police report said. According to the report, she replaced the lights Nov. 26, and on Nov. 28, she discovered the new lights were not working. On Sunday, she brought the lights inside and noticed they were cut again, the report said. The strand of lights is valued at about $25.
Attempted theft from auto
A Clawson man reported that someone attempted to break into his Chrysler 300 around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The resident, who lives on the 300 block of Roth, said he was getting ready for bed when his car alarm went off. He looked outside and saw two shadows running in an unknown direction, a police report said. There was no damage to the vehicle, and nothing was stolen. A police report said the vehicle was locked during the reported incident.
