Small Business Profile: Leon & Lulu Attracts Customers From Near and Far to Clawson

With Small Business Saturday coming up this weekend, Patch will be highlighting a different Clawson business each day this week.

Clawson is comprised of dozens of small businesses, which help give the city its character.

Each has something unique to offer and keeps customers coming back for more.

In honor of Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, we will be featuring a profile on a different business each day leading up to Saturday, the day that celebrates them all.

What does your business sell? "Leon & Lulu is Metro Detroit's award winning destination lifestyle store, selling furniture, gifts, clothing and decorative accessories."

What does your business embody? "Shoppers from all across the southeast Michigan area come to Clawson to shop here, support our many charity events and enjoy special events like the Artists' Market, Girls Nights Out and Books & Authors. During the holiday season, many people drive as much as two hours to shop at the store, helping bring new customers to the shops and restaurants in town."

What is your favorite part about having a business in Clawson? "Clawson is a lovely and family-friendly community. As a business, we love the easy access (only 1.5 miles off I-75!) from anywhere in Detroit, the convenient, copious and free parking. We are so lucky to have our business located in one of Clawson's historic buildings, the Ambassador Roller Rink."

Will you offer any deals for Small Business Saturday? "Friday, we will offer a light breakfast for weary shoppers from 9-10 a.m. as well as a beautiful candle holder (retail value $29.95) with a $100 purchase. Saturday, we will have a delightful Holiday De-Icer ($24.95 value) with a $75 purchase. Sunday and Monday, we will hold the Artists' Market, a juried art show featuring nearly 40 local artisans. And every day this weekend, our cheerful skating waiters will be serving coffee, popcorn and hot cookies.
