Weekend Planner: Fun with Food and Home Decor Lessons

A roundup of weekend events in Clawson.

 

1. Fish Fry

The Knights of Columbus Hall hosts a Fish Fry every Friday from 4:30-7 p.m. The meal includes baked and fried fish, crab cakes, rolls, coleslaw, vegetables, mac and cheese, french fries and baked potatoes. Desert and drinks are included. The cost is $8 for adults; $4.50 for children (12 and under); $7.50 for seniors.

2. Fire & Spice and Everything Nice

The Downtown Development Authority will host an event from noon-4 p.m. Saturday in celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Week. (Feb. 13-19). Fire & Spice and Everything Nice will feature a chili cook-off, a marshmallow drop, bonfires, chainsaw artists and more. Proceeds will benefit local causes and charities. The event will take place in the lot next to Clawson Show Repair, look for a big tent.

3. Lessons In Feng Shui

Leon & Lulu will host a class on from 3-4 p.m. Sunday that teaches you how to rearrange the furniture in your house to ensure prosperity, happiness, and well- being. "Discover ancient secrets of Feng Shui and the natural magic of home furnishings," the store says. The class is in celebration of the Chinese New Year. 

4. Chili Feast and Tanzania Presentation

Trinity Lutheran Church is serving a chili lunch with corn bread, salads and desserts at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, following the 11 a.m. church service. Following the lunch there will be a presentation of a recent mission trip to the church's partner congregation in Tanzania. There is no charge, but there will be a door offering to help with a special gift for the partner congregation.

5. Metro Detroit Raw Food Meet Up

Dr. Sam Tocco, of Tocco Chiropractic, will host a Raw Food Meet Up from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday. Attendees will learn about the benefits of eating raw, living food.
