Weekend Planner: Farmers Market Opens, Pet Adoption Event and More

A roundup of weekend happenings in Clawson and surrounding areas.

 

Farmers Market Opens

The Clawson Farmers Market will officially open this weekend at City Park. The market operates every Sunday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and features vendors from all over Michigan plus local groups and businesses. There will also be a special presentation by dietitian Stephanie Vella about the benefits of local produce.

Youth will be able to enjoy an inflatable obstacle course, a bounce house and a bike safety presentation by Officer Dale Mills at the market.

Pet Adoption Event

Leon & Lulu will host a pet adoption event on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. There will be dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption. There will be face painting, 50/50 raffle, a supply drive from the critters wish list, and traditional roller rink fare. Ten percent of all Leon & Lulu sales will be donated to Paws for Life, SAFARI, and G.R.A.C.E. Greyhound Adoption.

Vacation Bible School

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church will kick off its SKY Vacation Bible School on Sunday at 6 p.m. Bible School will meet Sunday through Thursday from 6-8:30 p.m. For registration information call the church at 248-435-8025.

Day on the Town

Downtown Birmingham will host Day on the Town on Saturday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The event features outdoor shopping (sidewalk sales with plenty of deals), kids activities and live entertainment.
