8 tips for a safe Halloween

Halloween is just around the corner and everyone will be dressed up in a costume.  What can you do to keep your children safe?  Here are some tips you can use tomorrow night:
1.  Have your child be chaperoned by an adult if they are under 12 years of age.  If kids are old enough they should stick to neighborhoods they are familiar with and trick or treat in groups.
2.  Teach children to make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them.
3.  This is IMPORTANT and a reminder for teenagers and tweens.  ALWAYS walk on the sidewalks or paths.  Walk facing traffic as far to the left as possible.  Children should walk on direct routes with the least amount of street crossings.
