EVENT:         The Clawson Middle School and High School String Orchestra will present a concert with The Moxie Strings - an electrifying combination of fiddler Diana Ladio, electric cellist Alison Lynn and dynamic drummer and world percussionist Fritz McGirr.

With their feel-good melodies and foot-stomping, rock-influenced

rhythms, the group has put a fresh, enticing spin on Celtic and Americana

music. The ensemble calls on Bluegrass, Celtic, Canadian, Rock, Jazz and Old Time influences to create their unique, American hybrid style of music. Both Ladio and Lynn use a variety of audio effects pedals. Lynn performs on a newly invented, electric instrument and McGirr on a variety of world percussion instruments in celebration of their redefinition of folk music.

WHEN:          Wednesday, October 9, 2013

                        7:00 p.m.

WHERE:       Clawson High School Auditorium

                        101 John M

Clawson

The concert is open to the public. Admission is $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for students (including college students).
