NEW 10U Eastside Niners Girls Travel Softball

The Eastside Niners Boys Travel Baseball Program ran out of Bottom of the Ninth located on Groesbeck south of Hall Rd is starting a 10U Girls Eastside Niners Softball Travel Team. Travel softball is more competitive than recreational league play and requires a higher level of teamwork, commitment and motivation from players, coaches and parents. The girls need to be 10 and under as of January 1, 2014. Any girls interested in trying out we have our 1st tryout date on Saturday, July 20th from 12:00- 2:00 P.M at Bottom of the Ninth. Then we will be holding our next tryout on July 27th at 11am to 1pm. 2nd tryout will be held at Mt Clemens on the smaller Memorial park fields. Player selection is based on a collection of the traits and qualities needed to develop a competitive softball team. Speed, agility, motivation to play, positive attitude, commitment, physical condition, strength, softball skills, previous softball experiences and availability to attend practices and tournaments. To get an idea of commitment we will be playing Fall Ball which starts the weekend after Labor Day, which are doubleheaders on Sundays for 6 weeks. From November to April there will be two practices a week at Bottom of the Ninth. In May, SMAFF season starts which is 18 games(doubleheaders on Tuesdays/Thursdays). Also, anytime between February and July there will be 4 guaranteed tournaments which means a weekend commitment. There is an optional opportunity for free batting cages until 5:00 P.M. Monday to Friday all year round. After 5:00 P.M. and weekends it is $10.00 a half an hour. Former professional baseball player with Oakland Athletics, Eddie Lara will be the girl's hitting instructor. Please pass on to whoever you may think is interested. Please contact me with any questions. The Eastside Niners Boys Travel Baseball teams are also looking for three coaches at ages ranging from 8U to 15U for anyone that is interested. As well as boys interested in playing baseball.
