Clawson Goodfellows to Hold Annual Paper Sale Saturday

The Clawson Goodfellows will be selling their papers out in most intersections of Clawson Dec. 1.

The season of giving is here, and the Clawson Goodfellows are looking for your help to make this time of year special for families in need.

The Goodfellows, a group of volunteer fighters from the Clawson Fire Department, will hold their annual paper sale this Saturday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. as they work to collect donations to go toward the less fortunate in the Clawson community.

The eight to twelve page booklet being sold is full of information about Clawson as well as advertisements and promotions from various local establishments.

The Goodfellows sell ads for the newspapers that cover the cost of the paper. This ensures that 100 percent of the money raised goes back out to the community without any overhead.

Over 20 Goodfellows members will be out and about on Saturday, in most major intersections of Clawson including the traffic stops along 14 Mile, as well as at 15 Mile and Crooks.

All money raised will go back into the community in the form of toys, vouchers and gift cards to ensure that this holiday will be special for all families, regardless of income.

Clawson Goodfellows President Jim Horton says the need for help has become greater in recent years, and foresees the same this year.

Those who cannot make it out to the paper sale and still wish to donate can bring new and unused toys to drop boxes located inside of City Hall and Hunter Community Center now until Dec. 14.

If you are unable to purchase a paper the day of the sale, donations may be mailed to Clawson Goodfellows at PO Box 239, Clawson, MI 48017. Furthermore, if you wish to nominate a Clawson family who you believe may qualify for assistance, e-mail the Goodfellows at clawsongoodfellows@gmail.com or call them at 248-407-5522 and leave a voicemail.
