Pet of the Week: Wizard the Brown Tabby

Wizard calls the Kimball Animal Hospital his home.

If you’re a frequent visitor of the in Clawson, you might be surprised to learn that someone actually resides there, keeping a watch out at all times from his safe spot.

Meet Wizard, a long-haired, three-year old brown tabby cat, who lives in a "loft" in his own room at the veterinarian clinic. Though he might be shy, Wizard receives tremendous love and adoration from the office staff.

However, Wizard’s life wasn’t always so carefree. When he was first adopted from the Michigan Animal Rescue League two years ago, he had a serious leg injury that looked to have resulted from a car engine’s fan belt. Yet, with a little TLC, Wizard looks as healthy as ever. Perhaps, that’s why the clinic has designated his birthday to be on Valentine’s Day.

Wizard, who is described as a lover of attention and affection with a purr resembling a motor, is warming up little-by-little to customers. However, bring him one of his favorite objects, paper-wads or plastic straws, and he might become your new best friend right away.

“It’s just nice to have a little critter around,” said Linda Ireland, receptionist at Kimball Animal Hospital. “He really is a nice boy.”
