Ernie's Pizza Cafe is one of the more unique establishments in Royal Oak. First and foremost, it has pizza – thin crust or stuffed. Stuffed pizza is somewhere between a calzone, a sandwich and a slice of pizza. Spicy pepperoni, mozzarella cheese and house-made tomato sauce are the filling between two layers of pizza dough.   

In addition to pizza, owner Anatoliy Dubovitskiy serves Eastern European dishes. Most are only available if you call ahead. However, that could mean calling 30 minutes in advance, so we suggest you just call and ask if they have any Eastern European dishes available that day.  

Ernie's is open late on the weekends because stuffed pizza is an ideal food for post-bar noshing.

Prices: Pizzas start at $4.95 with stuffed pizza available for a nominal additional charge. Eastern European cuisine is mostly in the $10 range.
