Clawson Gas Prices Continue to Drop as July 4th Approaches

Clawson's gas prices continued to fall from their springtime peak as July 4th draws nearer, according to Dearborn-based AAA Michigan.

The lowest price reported on MichiganGasPrices.com this morning from Clawson was $3.39 at BP (206 W. 14 Mile Rd.) and $3.55 at BP (1365 W. Maple Rd.). The site, part of GasBuddy.com, reports real-time user-submitted data on gas prices at specific stations.

The average Detroit price is currently $3.42. The average statewide price is  $3.45, 80 cents lower than a recent high of $4.25 on June 7.

Prices increased in Michigan following lingering issues at several Midwest refineries that supply gasoline to several neighboring state, but issues appear to be clearing up.

In Michigan, Traverse City's average price of $3.29 is the lowest compared to nine other metro areas in AAA's fuel gauge report. Marquette had the highest price at $3.56 per gallon.
