5 Things to Know About This Week

Warmer weather is in the forecast as fall activities start to pop up.

1. Warmer weather expected: According to the National Weather Service, we'll enjoy mostly sunny skies and temperatures rising to the high 60s and low 70s this week.

2. Blood drive: An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in the community room of . Stop by and give blood. To schedule an appointment, call 248-589-0334. 

3. Stop-Chop-n-Roll Chili Competition: is hosting a firefighter chili competition from 6-8 p.m. Thursday. The cost is free; just bring a pot of chili to the store Thursday for a chance to win the $100 grand prize. The event will benefit the American Diabetes Association on behalf of Team Jack's Jaywalkers, formed in memory of Troy firefighter Jack Schoenbeck.

4. Costume swap collection: The Downtown Development Authority is collecting gently used, clean Halloween costumes. All those who turn in costumes will receive a voucher to purchase a different swapped outfit. The costumes can be dropped off at and  until October 15.

5. Meetings:  The Clawson Athletic Booster Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the media center of , and City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at .
