5 Things to Know This Week: Holiday Book Drive, City Offices Closed, Free Yoga Class

Here's the scoop on what's happening in Clawson for the week of Dec. 24.

1. Clawson City Hall will be closed on Dec. 24, 25 and 28. The Tuesday evening City Planning Commission meeting has also been cancelled.

2. Monday is the last day to see Santa Clause this year! Bring your kids to get their photos taken at Somerset from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Oakland Mall from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

3. Are you looking for any last-minute gifts? Stop by Barnes & Noble in Royal Oak to purchase books, games and more. While you're there, pick up something extra to help children in need this Christmas and donate it to the store's Holiday Book Drive. All items will go directly to patients at Beaumont Children's Hospital.

4. Help Stagecrafters Youth Theatre in Royal Oak celebrate its 40th anniversary! All former cast and crew members and friends are invited to come out for a night of reconnecting, reminiscing and singing Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

5. Minimize holiday stress with a free yoga class at Lululemon at the Somerset Collection on Sunday. Bring a mat and get ready to stretch during the 11 a.m. session in store which is led by an experienced local yoga instructor.

I also notice that other patch sites out side of this area still look good (old). Can we just goRead More back since I don't hear ANY good feedback.

Personally, I'm enjoying that I can blog and post announcements on here free of charge. When IRead More called months ago, the young man I spoke with told me I'd have to pay a small fortune to place a business ad.

I don't blog, so the fact that it is free is irrelevant to me, but great for those who do blog.Read More However, I have to agree with the majority. The new site is very unappealing visually and much less user-friendy. Are all the "Patch" news run by the same people? I would like our to have more individuality to it and be easier to use.
