5 Things You Should Know Today: Aug. 3

Attend open mic night and drop off supplies for needy children at City Hall today.

1. Clawson Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a possible thunderstorm before 8 a.m. and another chance of showers between 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Expect mostly sunny skies later in the day with a high of 82 degrees and a low of 67 tonight. 

2. The is collecting school supplies for needy children in a drop box at . They are also collecting gently-used backpacks to stuff new supplies in for the students. The collection box will be at City Hall through Aug. 19.   

3. Today is Acoustic Open Mic Night at the Hideout. Area musicians perform at the bar from 9 p.m.-midnight each Wednesday.

4. This is a friendly reminder that today is trash pickup day for Clawson residents. The Department of Public Works does accept barbecue grills, lawn mowers, bicycles and small metal items for recycling.
