Celebrate End of Summer Saturday at Clawson Downtown Block Party

The annual event will be held this Saturday, Sept. 8, on North Main Street from 2-8 p.m.

Now that Labor Day and the first week of school have officially passed, it's time to celebrate the end of summer in Clawson.

To help you bid adieu to glorious warm days and carefree weekends spent on the beach or up north, the Clawson DDA is again hosting its annual Downtown Block Party this Saturday from 2-8 p.m.

"We close off Main Street north of 14 Mile for about two full blocks," said  owner and Clawson DDA secretary Nicole Seals. "I think it's just a good event for people to come together at the end of the summer."

The block party will feature a bounce house, DJ, corn roast, pie-eating contest and more. There is no entrance fee for the event.

“There will be food from local restaurants, beverages from our restaurant, (and) there will be beer at the Sips and Suds tent," Seals said. "There are all types of people from the community there; it’s a nice reprieve after the first week of school.”
