Overnight Snow Closes Clawson Public Schools Friday

The snow is expected to continue to fall until 10 a.m. Friday, the National Weather Service says.

For students in Clawson, it's going to be a three day weekend. After a night of snow that began soon after midnight, Clawson Public Schools has closed for the day.

Guardian Angels Catholic School is also closed.

A Winter Weather Advisory expires at 7 p.m. Friday after a low-pressure system moved into southeastern Michigan overnight, bringing the threat of snow with it.

While Clawson was only forecasted to receive between two and four inches overnight, areas north of M-59 could see up to eight inches of snow, the National Weather Service says.

The snow will continue to fall until 10 a.m. with the high reaching 31 degrees today. A total daytime accumulation of one to three inches is possible.

Tonight, the low will get down to 12 degrees, though the only precipitation forecasted for the weekend is rain on Sunday night.
