Fourth of July Carnival Opens Today

Enjoy games, food and rides from 3-9 p.m. at City Park.

The Fourth of July weekend carnival opens from 3-9 p.m. Sunday, offering a slew of games, food vendors and rides for the children at City Park.

Some of the attractions include a mini Ferris wheel, horse rides, bounce houses, a giant rocket that spins, a kiddie train and a trampoline-jumping activity. Many of the attractions will require a certain number of tickets, which you can purchase at the carnival. The admission fee is $2.

On Monday, the carnival is open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. there will be special attractions that don't require tickets, such as rock climbing and a water battle game.

All carnival admission fees fund the city's July Fourth fireworks show, which costs about $16,000.
