Images: Flower Day in Clawson

A large crowd of adults, children and pets turned out for Flower Day in the sunny, warm weather Sunday.

City Park came alive on Sunday as hundreds of people turned out for at the . Vendors offered a wide variety of goods ranging from plants and flowers to food and rain barrels.

Cindy Corey of Clawson was shopping for fresh vegetables at the market Sunday afternoon. Trips to the farmers market have become a yearly tradition for Corey.

"I think it's nice; it looks great," Corey said. "There' s a good variety."

Many shoppers brought wagons to the event to hold their bundles of colorful spring plantings. Vendors such as Mike and Sandy Snider of Allenton had a consistent flow of traffic at their booth, which offered herbs, heirloom tomatoes, moon flowers, morning glory vines and more. The couple have a greenhouse at their home in Allenton, and they sell at farmers markets across the state.

"Business has been decent," Mike Snider said.

Flower vendors weren't the only booths attracting shoppers at the market Sunday. Louise Anguilm of Auburn Hills had a booth promoting Tastefully Simple, an Alexandria, MN-based company that provides easy-to-prepare foods for taste-testing parties.

Anguilm said this was her third year at the Clawson Farmers Market. Her table had a variety of products including dip mix, cheese ball mix, seasoning, salsa, biscuits and cake mix.

"This year, there are more people than last year (on Flower Day)," Anguilm said.
