Is It Winter Yet? The Latest on Power Outages, Roads, Weather

Clawson woke up to a light covering of snow Wednesday morning after a wintry mix of rain, snow and ice fell in the last 24 hours. The rain and heavy winds on Tuesday knocked down at least two trees— one on Roth and another on Boschma— and caused power outages across town. 

Here's what we know right now:

  • The commute: Roads are expected to be slick this morning. Here's a look at . Check this before you head out.
  • The weather: The skies are expected to clear up later this afternoon — and sun is in the forecast for Thursday. Expect a high near 40 degrees today. A complete look at the weather forecast is here.
  • The power outages: As of early Wednesday morning, 58 Clawson customers were without power. Tuesday evening DTE Energy said crews were working to restore power for 20,000 customers in southeast Michigan. For the latest on the power outages, check out this interactive map.
