Is There a Pie That Tastes (and Looks) Like Homemade in or Near Clawson?

It's the day before Thanksgiving. You've been given the pie task. Bake or buy, or something in between?

It's November 21. The family is preparing a Thanksgiving feast. Someone asks you to bring pumpkin pie.

Maybe you don't bake. Or maybe you do bake but you're too busy to get it done before Nov. 22.

Either way, you need a pie, pronto. Where do you turn, Clawson?

A quick and unscientific ask on Clawson Patch Facebook says the best pies around can be found at Clawson favorite Julian's Brothers Bakery, hands down.

Julian Brothers will be open from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday and are closed on Thursday. If you want pie, get there early.

Others put in a vote for Grand Traverse Pie Co. and Achatz, both with locations in Troy.

Well the good news for Achatz fans: They will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, and from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The nearest location is in Troy.

The other favorite spot for pie in Clawson seems to be lot of your homes! Homeade pie advocates were very vocal in our Facebook discussion.

And we would NEVER advocate lying to family and loved ones, but if that's how you roll, you can even find directions on the Internet for making your storebought pie look homemade.

But that's a slippery slope, people. Just fess up and bring the best you can!
