National Weather Service Issues Tornado Watch

The chance of storms continues on Wednesday.

The first day of summer is ending with a tornado watch for southeast Michigan, including Oakland County.

The National Weather Service (NWS) lists nine counties in the watch, which expires at midnight. A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms to occur.

The chance of thunderstorms continues through Wednesday and Thursday; according to NWS, some storms on Wednesday may be severe.
