Thousands Still Without Power in Clawson on Saturday

More than 2,400 DTE Energy customers in the Clawson area could be without power until late Saturday night, and others even later as crews continue to make repairs to lines impacted by Friday's storms.

The majority of outages remained cut across a swath following the direction of Rochester Road, extending southwest to Tacoma Street, according to the DTE outage map. Those DTE customers, over 1,600 of them, have been in the dark since 4:52 p.m. Friday. There is no estimated time of restoration. 

Others in an octagon-shaped area east of Crooks Road and north of 14 Mile Road to Park Street, have also been without since Friday night. There is also no estimated time of restoration for those customers. Several smaller outages have also affected Clawson residents.

In all, more than 130,000 customers in Oakland Macomb and Wayne Counties experienced outages due to the severe thunderstorms. The predicts National Weather Service reported cooler temperatures on Saturday compared with Friday, with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Sunday's forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 82 degrees.
