Viewfinder: Snowstorm in Clawson

Check out these images before, during and after this week's snowstorm, which closed schools, offices and businesses throughout Clawson on Wednesday.

Clawson Patch captured photos of shoppers preparing for the snowstorm that closed local schools, businesses and offices to close and forced organizers to cancel events Wednesday.

While Clawson didn't get the 15 inches the National Weather Service predicted, accumulations reached about 6 inches as of Wednesday afternoon.

Shoppers were out preparing for the forecasted monster blizzard on Tuesday afternoon. Snowfall in the area started about 7 p.m. Tuesday and picked up later that evening, with strong wind gusts that created blizzard conditions.

On Wednesday morning the snow continued to fall and traffic was light in Clawson. Local families enjoyed the snow day sledding, making snow angels or simply staying inside playing Wii.
