Weekend Countdown: Goodfellows Offer Chance to Give Back

While you're out enjoying holiday events and shopping, don't forget to reach a hand out to those in need.

One local group will offer Clawson motorists that opportunity on Saturday.

The to help dozens of local families in need during the holidays. The Goodfellows already have received more family nominations this year than it has had all of last year combined, Goodfellow Jim Horton said.

• Cost: Donations
• Why go: If you buy a paper, your money will go toward helping a family in need. The Goodfellows says it sells ads for the newspapers that cover the cost of the paper. This ensures that 100 percent of the money raised goes back out to the community without any overhead. Its mission, says Horton, is that no child goes without a Christmas.
