Weekend Planner: Family Campout, Magic Class and More

Here's a roundup of weekend events in Clawson.

The and the will host a Family Campout beginning at 4 p.m. Friday at City Park. There will be plenty of games, live entertainment, food and a movie showing at dusk. Families may camp at the park overnight or just participate in Friday's events. For those who spend the night, there will be a pancake breakfast from 7-9 a.m. Saturday. The cost is $30 per family to camp or $15 per family for Friday activities only.

will host a Children's Magic Class from 10-11 a.m. Saturday for children 7-13. The class is taught by an accomplished magician. You can purchase six classes for $100 and use them any time within six months.

is offering a free belly dancing class, "Hips Don't Lie," from 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday. Celebrate National Dance Day with the talented instructor Lana Mini. Women of all ages and sizes are welcome. This is a ladies-only class — sorry, guys.

There is a garage sale from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Sunday at 510 W. Baker Ave. There will be children's clothing, strollers, bouncers, videos, books, suitcases, maternity clothing and more.

The Clawson Farmers Market is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Sunday at City Park. Vendors come from throughout the Metro Detroit area and beyond. Seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables will be available from Michigan farmers, and area businesses often attend the farmers market as food vendors or for marketing purposes. Occasionally, the market features live entertainment and children's activities.
