Weekend Planner: Honoring 9/11, Block Party, Trojans Football

There's plenty to do in Clawson this weekend.

Cheer on the Clawson varsity football team Friday at its game against New Haven High School. The game will be at City Park and kickoff is at 7 p.m. The cost is $4 for adults, $2 for students. Go Trojans!

Celebrate the end of summer with your neighbors at the fourth annual Downtown Block Party 4-8 p.m. on Saturday. There will be live music by the Clawson "Crewsade" Band, sips and suds featuring the Black Lotus Brewery, great food from Clawson restaurants, plus games and a frozen T-shirt contest.

In honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Clawson police and fire officials will be at the Clawson Farmers Market on Sunday to speak with residents and display their equipment for children. At noon there will be a bike safety clinic followed by a fire safety clinic. The farmers market will also have a moment of silence for the historic date.

will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. You can make an appointment on the website using sponsor code "guardiana."

Everyday Yoga is offering an Easy-Does-it Yoga class at 9 a.m. Saturday. The class is designed for students who have little experience in yoga. It's also a special day as Everyday Yoga participates in "Yoga for Camp Day" by donating the proceeds from this class to the Camp Make-A-Dream fund. The cost is $10.
