Weekend Weather: Extreme Heat Continues Through Saturday

It will be a hot day for those attending Cinema in the Street in downtown Clawson.

This weekend is going to start off on a hot note.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will have temperatures approaching 95 degrees, with a heat index value as high as 101 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms and rain, though mostly in the afternoon.

And so, if you're heading to in downtown Clawson, make sure you bring plenty of water and take breaks in the shade. The event begins at 4:30 p.m. and there will be plenty of games, contests and activities.

The movie showing will be at dusk and this year the DDA will show The Sandlot. The chance of thunderstorms continues Saturday night, with a 40 percent chance of precipitation. Temperatures will dip down to 69 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

On Sunday, it will be much cooler. The high will be 82 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Sunday night, lows dip down to 63 degrees.

Looking ahead to Monday, the high will be 81 degrees to start off the work week. Skies will be mostly sunny.
