Birmingham Village Players Presents Musical, Kiss Me Kate

The Village Players of Birmingham presents Cole Porter’s delightful musical "Kiss Me, Kate" throughout the month of May. This rollicking retelling of Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” includes such famous songs as “Another Op’nin, Another Show,” “Too Darn Hot,” and “So In Love.”

“Kiss Me, Kate” tells the story of Lilli Vanessi and Fred Graham, formerly married and once again teamed up on stage in an off-Broadway musical version of “Taming of the Shrew.”   The raucous couple’s ‘battle of the sexes’ continue on and off the stage much to the delight of the audience.  Thrown into the mix are an ambitious showgirl, a Broadway hoofer with a gambling problem, and singing gangsters.  Hilarity ensues as this romantic musical is sure to leave the audience tapping their toes and humming all the way home!

Show dates are May 2, 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17 and 18. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 pm and Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:00 pm.  Tickets are just $ 19 and are available on-line at www.birminghamvillageplayers.com or by calling the box office at (248) 644-2075.
