Meet creative local artist, author and historian,
T.C. Christman for a book signing event at the Clawson Arts and Authors
Festival. Sunday, September 8, from 10:am to 2:00 pm by the Clawson
Farmer's Market. A limited supply of First Edition books are still
available.
Her trilogy, "The Mayor's Daughter", tells the history of the founding of the cities of Clawson and Royal Oak. "T.C." as she was
called as a child stands for Therese Clawson, daughter of H. Lloyd
Clawson, former mayor of Royal Oak and member of the city council. He
holds the record for being re-elected the most times in the history of
the city.
"The Mayor' Daughter" includes numerous photos of the cities
and families when the area was first settled and her family owned a
large portion of the land as their farm. It goes on to recount
historical information about the founding of Wm. Beaumont Hospital, the Shrine of the Little Flower as Father Coughlin was a personal friend of
the family,
Also a noted painter, a small sampling of her portfolio will be available
for viewing. At 86, she is a national treasure and well worth meeting!
