Clawson Police Help Needy Families with Back-to-School

Back-to-school shopping season is fully upon us, and to help ease the burden of needy families in the community, Clawson Police are fundraising for backpacks and school supplies.

The fifth annual Stuff-a-Backpack Drive is scheduled Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clawson Farmers Market (in Clawson City Park, located at Elmwood and Custer).

Police are collecting new or gently used backpacks and new school supplies, including paper and notebooks, glue sticks, folders and binders, rulers and scissors, crayons, colored pencils, markers, highlighters, pencils, and pencils.

Police also have a collection box set up in the lobby of Clawson City Hall at 425 N. Main St. Donations will be accepted through Aug. 26.
