Pet of the Week: Help Peter Piper Pick a Forever Home

Peter Piper is available for adoption through Paws for Life Rescue in Troy.

If you're looking for a cat with a lot of character and personality, then look no further – Peter Piper may just be the cat for you! He's a young male Maine Coon mix looking for a forever home.

Peter Piper is a people cat – he loves humans and wants them all to himself. He's not aggressive with other cats, but he can get jealous and try to "hog" his person. Peter Piper is very handsome, and he knows how to use a litter box and cat scratching tower.

While he is an affectionate cat, he can also be headstrong and subborn. He likes to get his way and will wrap himself around your leg if you don't do what he wants you to. Still, he is a loverboy who is a very in-your-face cat. He tolerates other cats but doesn't have much use for them; he prefers toys and humans.

Peter Piper needs an active family with people who will spend time with him and play with him. Is it you? Click here to apply to adopt Peter Piper; his adoption fee is $60.

Adopt, don't buy! Rescue organizations are wonderful folks who have helped me find great cats.

I'm very sorry to hear about Ozzie, Linda. I lost my dog, Lola, a few months ago, and it's definitely not easy. And like you and Kristen, my cat is also a Maine Coon (with some rag doll in there, I think). :) And I believe Peter Piper is fine around dogs, though he is supposedly a bit of an attention hog, so he may get annoyed if you pay too much attention to the pup. :P Emailing info@pawsforliferescue.org, like Kristen said, is the best way to learn all about Peter Piper. If you do adopt him, would you send us a photo and an update? It'd be a fantastic follow-up story! My email address is jen.anesi@patch.com. Thanks! :)

I agree, Mark! I adopted my cat through Michigan Animal Rescue League and my dog (rest her little Yorkie soul) through Paws for Life (she was supposed to be Patch's pet of the week, but when I got her info from PFL, I stole her for myself, ha!). So many animals out there need good homes. Wish I could adopt them all. How many cats do you have?

I was surfing the internet and just found this. I am happy to inform you that my parents adopted Peter Piper about two months ago. I had the pleasure of meeting him, he is beautiful, polite, friendly, and well adjusted. My Dad says he is the smartest cat he has ever had. I can assure you that he is well cared for and loved!
