Registration Open for Summer Camps in Clawson

The school year will be ending in about a month or so and many area parents and youth are searching for summer camps or activities.

The city of Clawson has plenty of camps for different age groups and interests from theater to baseball to just a full day of fun at Hunter Community Center. Unless otherwise noted, you can contact the for registration or more information at 248-589-0334.

Fun in the Sun 'Summer Camp'

• What: Day camp. There will be trips to the Clawson High School pool, arts & crafts, barbeques, games and sports. There will also be weekly field trips to such locations as local Metroparks, the wave pool, Detroit Science Center and more.
• Ages: 6-11
• When: Weekly sesssions from June 18-Aug. 10
• Where:
• Registration: The cost is $85 per session ($68 for the shortened July 4 holiday week). Before and after care is an additional $15. You can also pay a daily fee of $25. Nonresidents will be charged an extra $5 per session.

Basketball Camp

• What: Participants will learn all about the fundamentals of basketball and good sportsmanship. Campers will be grouped according to age and ability. 
• Grades: 1-9
• When: June 18-22

Baseball Clinic

• What: This “Hitters Club” clinic will be broken into different stations for participants to focus on such activities as hitting, infield basics and outfield fundamentals.
• Ages: 8-14

Summer Theatre Camp

• What: Participants will sing, dance and experience the basics of theater while having fun. There will also be a trip to Clawson High School pool.
• Ages: 6-12
• When: July 9-13 and Aug. 6-10

• Registration: $130 per child at each session

Clawson Teen Center

• What: Students are able to partake in open gym time to play sports, board games, movies, a Wii and PlayStation 3 with accompanying age-appropriate games.
• When: Summer session is June 18-Aug. 24
• Where: Hunter Community Center
• Registration: $70 per week for up to seven hours a day or $15 per day for up to seven hours.

Introduction to Tennis

• What: Learn the basic fundamentals of tennis.
• Ages: 7-12
• When: Every Saturday June 16-July 14
• Where: City Park
• Registration: $30 per child

T-Ball

• What: Learn all the fundamentals of baseball.
• Ages: 5-6
• When: Evenings from mid-June to mid-July

Spanish Preschool Summer Camp

• What: An opportunity for students to learn Spanish and explore the
  Latin culture.
• Ages: 2-6
