Video: Parade is a Longtime Tradition for Clawsonites

Generations of Clawson families have attended the city's July 4 festivities every year.

On a hot Wednesday morning, spectators from all over southeast Michigan showed up for the annual Fourth of July parade that marched from the Clawson Shopping Center to City Park.

For many families, it's an annual tradition to find a shady spot on 14 Mile, lay out a blanket and lawn chairs and enjoy the parade entertainment.

"We come every year," said Clawson resident Sue Henriksen. "We've been here for 57 years and we never miss it. After the parade the family goes back to the house for a picnic."
