Weekend Planner: A Musical Weekend

Pencil in some concerts and music programs, there are plenty to choose from.

The name of the game this weekend is music. Whether it's enjoying The Polish Muslims during its 30th anniversary holiday celebration, a local band, music group or a children's Christmas program, you're sure to be entertained.

The Polish Muslims will be putting on a show for its 30th anniversary and the season starting at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus hall. The Polish Muslims will be mourning for wasted, lost years of their lives at their 30th Anniversary and Christmas Party. Helping the celebration will be Honky Dory, the late Mike McCour and an all Bruce Springsteen act known as The Bruce Revue.

  • Doors open at 7 p.m.
  • Bruce Revue will begin at 8 p.m.
  • Honky Dory will go on around 9:15 p.m.
  • Polish Muslims will play a little after 10 p.m.

The Rose Marie Floyd Contemporary Civic Ballet Company presents this holiday classic at 7 p.m. Saturday at Clawson High School. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for those younger than 14. For more information and ticket forms, visit the Rose Marie Floyd Studio of Dance website.

The Royal Oak Symphony Orchestra will perform its winter concert at 8 p.m. Friday at . The orchestra is a cultural offering to Royal Oak and its neighboring communities. The orchestra is comprised of musicians from Royal Oak and neighboring communities who desire to make music a lifelong avocation. Adult tickets are $10 ($30 for season tickets), student/senior tickets are $7 ($20 for season tickets) and 18 and younger get in free. Senior pricing for those 60 and older. Tickets will be available at the door.
