Mark Your Calendar for May Events in Clawson

There's plenty of fun for all ages this month in Clawson.

With temperatures warming up and flowers starting to bloom, there is plenty in store for the Clawson community in May. The city will host some traditional events as well as a Road Rally for the first time. Mark your calendar for the following events: 

Youth Assistance Awards Banquet

At 6:30 p.m. May 2, Clawson Youth Assistance will honor local youth who have demonstrated volunteer efforts to improve the community. The awards banquet will be held at the .

Clawson Relay for Life

Relay for Life of Clawson is this weekend at City Park. Opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Following the opening ceremonies there will be a Survivor Lap at noon; Caregiver Lap at 1 p.m.; Fight Back Ceremony at 3 p.m.; Luminaria Cereomy at 9 p.m. and closing ceremonies at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Claws & Paws

Beginning at 10 a.m. May 19, the 7th annual Claws and Paws 2 Mile Run/Walk for homeless animals will take place at City Park. Participants may walk or jog with their pets or stand along the sidelines and cheer. After the walk, vendors, pet adoption booths, games and prizes will be at the park. The event will benefit Guardians for Animals and the Clawson Chamber of Commerce. For more information call Mary Sames at 248-435-6500 or Kathy Phillips at 248-217-3397.

Road Rally

The city of Clawson will host it's first Road Rally on May 19. A Road Rally includes several teams who have to solve a series of clues that require them to visit locations around town, similar to a scavenger hunt. The event is part of Clawson Youth Assistance' efforts to send low income kids to day camp or overnight camp. The cost for the Road Rally is $15 per team member and all registration fees will go to Clawson Youth Assistance. The registration deadline is May 5. Farmers Market Flower Day

The Clawson Farmers Market introduces Flower Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. May 20 at City Park. There will be a variety of spring plantings from vendors across Michigan.

Memorial Day Parade

The Clawson Memorial Day parade will be held at 10 a.m. May 28. The parade will begin at the , travel north on Main Street and end in front of .
