As Father's Day approaches, Patch is looking for lessons from your father, or any other influential man in your life.

Tell us in the comments the best lessons - big or small - and you'll be entered for a chance to win one of three prizes from area businesses. The winners will be selected randomly.

The grand prize is an overnight stay in a premium room at The Baronette Renaissance on June 14, 15 or 16 and a $100 food and drink credit at the on-site restaurant, The Toasted Oak. The second prize is a $50 giftcard for Joe's Produce Gourmet Market in Livonia, and the third prize is a $25 giftcard for Uncle Paul's Pizza in Grosse Pointe.

"My father is also quietly a person of great faith. He sneaks in a rosary, when no one is looking. I love that about him. I try to emulate him in that regard, making sure no matter how busy I may be there is always time for quiet prayer," she said.

• Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 21 and older.
• To enter, add a comment at the end of this article, stating the lesson your father taught you. Keep it clean.
• All entries must be received by 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12 Eastern Time.

• Three winners will be selected in a random drawing.
