Vote Now: Clawson Athlete of the Spring Season

Vote from a list of deserving candidates to determine who should be named the Patch Athlete of the Season for Clawson.

had plenty of great athletic performances this season. Now we want to hear from our readers which one they thought was the best.

Be sure to vote by 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 27. Final results will be posted on June 29.

Here are the candidates:

Jordan Ross – Senior, Clawson High School, Track and Field: Jordan Ross was the Clawson varsity track and field team’s lone qualifier for the Division 2 state finals in the spring. Ross won a regional title in the high jump with a 6’00.00” jump. He went to the state finals and finished in 14th place. Ross also helped the Trojans capture a Macomb Area Conference division title by winning the high jump at the championship meet.

Taylor Kaufman – Senior, Clawson High School, Soccer: Clawson only lost one division game this season and a big reason why was goalkeeper Taylor Kaufman. Kaufman was the defense’s anchor in the net, picking up shutouts against division-rivals Warren Woods Tower, Marine City and Marysville. Her play earned her the Athlete of the Year award from Clawson. Earlier this year Kaufman picked up a scholarship from the U.S. Marines Special Awards.

Craig Bynum – Junior, Clawson High School, Baseball – Craig Bynum lead his team and the Macomb Area Conference Silver division in hitting this season. The junior hit .525 with 42 hits in 80 at-bats as the Trojans’ No. 3 hitter. He had a solid .813 fielding percentage at shortstop. He had three doubles and three triples on the season while striking out only six times.

Hey, I think that pic of Taylor Kaufman is 1/2 of one I just took for an article in The Daily Tribune.

I also notice that other patch sites out side of this area still look good (old). Can we just goRead More back since I don't hear ANY good feedback.

Personally, I'm enjoying that I can blog and post announcements on here free of charge. When IRead More called months ago, the young man I spoke with told me I'd have to pay a small fortune to place a business ad.

I don't blog, so the fact that it is free is irrelevant to me, but great for those who do blog.Read More However, I have to agree with the majority. The new site is very unappealing visually and much less user-friendy. Are all the "Patch" news run by the same people? I would like our to have more individuality to it and be easier to use.
