It would be easy to give a knee-jerk reaction. I'm sure the pros & cons are coming like so many snow flakes. But of equal importance is the process by which we have come to this point. In a state that has a large contigency of organized labor like the UAW, Teamsters, SEIU, NEA, etc - it is offensive. When you know that behind this move, is ALEC, who is funded by the Billionaire Scrooge like Koch brothers - you must know there is more to this then a simple philisophical point. The mere fact that this bill was introduced AND voted on in the same day - without going through the committee process, public feedback should tell you a lot. The fact that this bill was passed entirely by the Republicans in a lame duck session should tell you alot. The fact that the Governor lied to us for months saying RTW was not on his agenda - only to say it was just a couple days before this onerous bill was passed - should tell you alot. Neither the governor or any legislator ran on a platform of pushing RTW if elected. So much for truth in advertising. And finally, facts don't lie - RTW states pay less on average to their workers. Most of the RTW states have more people without insurance, are a heavy burden on Medicaid, and whose children do much poorer in school. I do not understand this plantation mentality.

Its about time we became a Right to Work State. This means more jobs for everyone and will encourge reivestment in Michigan like the other states who are RTW. What are the Unions worried about if they offer a better deal people will go or stay with them.. I reminds of the Former USSR, Cuba, China Communism is suppose to be the greatest thing for the Little Guy yet they use (d) a Iron or Bamboo curtian to keep people in even tough it is a Utopia.

There is nothing wrong with having a choice and that is what this legislation does.
Sure, a minority trained by communist agitators will make alot of noise, but in the end this will be good for ALL workers.

I also notice that other patch sites out side of this area still look good (old). Can we just goRead More back since I don't hear ANY good feedback.

Personally, I'm enjoying that I can blog and post announcements on here free of charge. When IRead More called months ago, the young man I spoke with told me I'd have to pay a small fortune to place a business ad.

I don't blog, so the fact that it is free is irrelevant to me, but great for those who do blog.Read More However, I have to agree with the majority. The new site is very unappealing visually and much less user-friendy. Are all the "Patch" news run by the same people? I would like our to have more individuality to it and be easier to use.
