What's the Best Advice Your Father Ever Gave You?

Honor your father this year by posting his sage advice on Patch.com.

We all know wisdom comes with age and life experiences, and most of our fathers have plenty of that.

Growing up, dads teach us morals, ethics and do their best to guide us in the right direction.

For me, some of my dad's advice went in one ear and out the other, but some things he said were forever ingrained in my brain.

What's the best piece of advice your father has ever given to you? Help Patch create a slideshow of our dads and their wise words.

Post a picture of your father in the photo album above and include his name, what city he lives in and his advice in the caption.

My dad was a big believer in the GOLDEN RULE. But as a child there were two things he would not tolerate. Lying and stealing. I could get away with a lot of things as long as I didn't lie about it - and whoa be on to me if I took something that didn't belong to me.

Good one, Michael. My father also taught me to be honest and to always make education and success a priority. His advice paid off because I have a college degree and a career, so I'm grateful. Anyone else want to add?
