Great Recycling Challenge

It is a Great Recycling Challenge!  The City of Hazel Park challenges the City of Clawson to a friendly competition to see which city will have the largest increase in recycling for the Month of May.  The winning city will get a trophy, bragging rights and the chance to challenge another SOCRRA city.  SOCRRA is the Southeastern Oakland County Resource Recovery Authority providing recycling services to 12 cities in Oakland County.  It is time to recycle every scap of paper, plastic container, glass bottle and more in your recycle bin.  Do you need another bin?  April is Bin Blitz month with recycle bins half off.  Stop by the Clawson DPW, or SOCRRA, to purchase another bin for $6.00 (regularly $12.00).  At present, in Clawson we recycle 16% of our trash.  Come on Clawson, practice recycling in April and get ready for May - recycle, reuse, reduce, replenish and restore what we have.  Recycling helps our environment and we (city) are paid for the recyclables thereby reducing the money we pay in garbage pick up.  It's a win/win situation.
