Car Stolen from Clawson Shopping Center Parking Lot

It happened last week at Fantastic Sam's.

A Clawson man's Dodge Caravan was stolen last week as he was getting a haircut, according to police.

Clawson Police, who were working together with Royal Oak Police to investigate the June 28 theft, have been unable to find the van.

The man, 37, told police that he and his wife went into Fantastic Sam's on 14 Mile Road at 5:05 that night. Within the 20 minutes that he was inside, he told police, the van was stolen from its parking spot on the east side of the building. There are no suspects.

The east side of the building was outside of the view from Fantastic Sam's, according to police, and video surveillance equipment did not capture the incident. The man told police that the only item of value in the van was his wife's checkbook.

There were no signs of forced entry at the scene, according to police. The van is a 2003 model, silver in color and has damage on the rear passenger bumper.
