High School Seniors Prank Clawson Neighborhoods, Police Say

Patio set moved, sign stolen, cars egged and more Thursday night and Friday morning.

Clawson Police say they believe local high school students played a series of "senior pranks" between Thursday night and Friday morning in several neighborhoods. The following reports were made to police:

Patio furniture relocated

A Clawson man reported someone took an entire patio set and charcoal grill from outside his home on the 300 block on Lincoln some time Thursday night. Police say they informed the man that earlier that day a neighbor found a patio set and grill in his front lawn. The resident visited the police station and confirmed the items were his.

Sign stolen

A Clawson resident on the 400 block of East Baker told police someone stole a sandwich board-style sign from her front yard Thursday night. The sign was an advertisement for her landscaping business. Police informed the woman that it was possible local high school students could have removed the sign as part of a senior prank. The sign, valued at $100, is still missing.

Other reports included cars egged, toilet paper strewn across bushes and trees and forks in yards.

Senior pranks are an annual tradition for Clawson students every year in June, police say. Police say no one was caught playing any of the pranks and officers will typically warn students and tell them to go home if they witness the activities.

Our flag and our neighbor's flag were stolen. This is NOT a harmless prank. This act was pathetic and I wonder what kind of parents are they raising children like this.

Where's the National Guard when you need them. There are a lot of areas in town that need sprucing up. Pehaps this energy could be put to better use.

Hopefully the flags are being displayed, and were not dishonored by destruction. The eggs-not good since it does not clean up easily. Perhaps we could have our city construct a new ordinance; with numerous allowed and disallowed items to be used; then have 10 Board meetings on the approval of same by the people of the City of Clawson; have 10 more meetings mediating disagreements; enact an ordinance and make it a crime punishable up to 1 year in jail or a fine of $1,000.00 and it be on the kids records permanently to show what horrible kids we are raising these days...

It's a tradition leave the kids be, it happens in cities all over the state and we even had out of town family talking about how it happens where they live....a lot of the incoming freshman look forward to the rite of passage, i know my kid would have been disappointed to wake up to a clean front yard

It's a tradition and leave the kids be? When they dishonor our country by stealing a sacred flag? You are so clueless. It must have been one of your loser kids out there doing it.
