  • A 26-year-old Sterling Heights woman was arrested in the early morning hours Aug. 4 at East Elmwood and North Main Street. Police said that she had been pulled over for speeding at about 2:45 a.m. and officers noticed her breath smelled of intoxicants. The man told police that he struck the boulder after swerving out of the street to avoid a large dog crossing the street. Officers noticed he smelled of intoxicants and administered sobriety tests. The man failed the tests and later breath tested at .12 percent. He was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol.
