Man Arrested After Failing Sobriety Tests with Child in Backseat

Clawson Police say the 38-year-old Detroit man was driving drunk with his three-year-old child.

Among the highlights of recent Clawson Police reports:

A 38-year-old Detroit man was arrested in Clawson on Sunday morning after failing sobriety tests with a .12 percent preliminary breath test result.

The man had been pulled over for an improper license plate violation while driving a Chevrolet Blazers at about 10:45 a.m., traveling eastbound on 14 Mile Road near Florence. When an officer approached, they noticed his bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech. The man was driving with his wife in the passenger seat and three-year-old child in the backseat, according to reports.

Police later found that the man, who admitted he did not have his driver's license in possession, had in fact a twice-suspended license. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, child endangerment, and improper plates.
