A 33-year-old Clawson is charged in connection with a home invasion Tuesday morning on the 200 block of Manitou.

Clawson Police say they arrested David Marsh around 9 a.m. Tuesday at a bus stop on the corner of 14 Mile and Manitou. He was arraigned Thursday in Troy 52-4 District Court on charges of home invasion and marijuana possession and is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.

Sarvello said a resident reported seeing a suspicious man carrying a duffle bag in his yard shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday. Police searched the area and made contact with Marsh because he matched the description the resident provided.

Police arrested Marsh because he was in possession of marijuana. They also discovered he had a large plastic container filled with several hundred dollars in bills and coins in his duffle bag.

Later Tuesday, a resident of the 200 block of Manitou reported that someone broke into her house and stole a large container of money. The resident was able to confirm the container Marsh had in his possession was the one stolen from her house.

"Note that because of a citizen stepping up and making a call, it really helped us in this case," Sarvello said. "Residents should stay alert and continue to call police when they see (suspicious) people in their neighborhood."

Sarvello said Marsh stood mute during his arraignment. If convicted of home invasion, Marsh faces up to 15 years in prison. Marijuana possession is a one-year misdemeanor. Marsh has a pre-exam conference set for 8:30 a.m. Monday in Troy District Court.
